January 4, 2012 - "Leo Hurley is Whitman's Citizen of the Year," By Tracy Seelye, The Express
Last year’s honoree, state Rep. Geoffrey Diehl, R-Whitman, also lauded Hurley’s selection. “I can’t think of a better recipient than Leo Hurley, especially at this time, when we can see how his hard work for the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry is helping so many people affected by the recent economic downturn,” Diehl said.
December 15, 2011 - "Abington Receives State S.A.F.E. grant," Abington Mariner
“Fire education and prevention for our children is so important and I am very glad to know that Abington’s Fire Department has been awarded the S.A.F.E. grant,” said Diehl. “My two daughters learned the basics of ‘Stop, Drop and Roll,’ but there is a lot more to know and these funds insure that our kids will be prepared in case of an emergency.”
